Wanderlust Wednesday is here and so, we would like to share with you one of our most recent wanderings. This segment of OTBT's Wander Lust Wednesday brings you to the Blackwater Creek Trail. You can find this unique nature trail just a little past downtown Lynchburg, right next to the beautiful James River. When we are headed out for a day of exploring, we always make sure to find the perfect fit for our feet (because we aren't talented enough to walk on our hands, and so those feet have to stay comfortable). This time we have for you, our perfect fit, the Green Lake, in Dust Grey.
We are seriously so in love with this hiker. What's not to love about it? It's comfortable, durable, cute AND on top of all that it looks great with just about anything. This particular day was a little chilly (and breezy by the water) but not bone-chilling cold, thank goodness. So we paired the Green Lake with some warm wool ankle socks (not seen in the pictures haha), a white wash denim jean, a grey long-sleeve cotton t-shirt and a 'dust grey' knit vest. This outfit looked great with the hiker and we were super cozy which allowed us to explore the trails even longer!
We were SO happy that we got to hit the trail before all the leaves fell off the trees. The oranges and greens of the leaves were just gorgeous! After we hiked and hiked we decided to take a break so we could look out at the river. During this break (as often happens when you're out on an adventure), we found something pretty cool, love locks.
(Love /ləv/ Locks /läk/ - a padlock which sweethearts lock to a bridge, fence, gate, or similar public fixture to symbolize their love)
We had so much fun looking at all of the locks and thinking about all the wanderers, like us, who were exploring the trails and soaking in the beauty of our hometown. So naturally, since we thought this was so cool, we will definitely be headed back to the trail soon so that we can add a love lock of our own! Maybe when we head back we will try out one of the other colors of our beloved Green Lake (Havana and Dark Bronze).
