Hey there, OTBT wanderers!
My name is Virginia, and I’m OTBT’s Brand Ambassador for the Southeast. If you’ve been following our Instagram Stories and Snapchat from the past couple of weeks, then you already know about the awesome road trip that my teammate Sydney and I went on. This 7-day journey to Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina was a true OTBT adventure! We had the awesome opportunity to meet with sorority sisters and OTBT fans all throughout the southeastern U.S., and host OTBT events right on some of our favorite college campuses. We spent so much time in preparation for this road trip, and it was so exciting to see all of our hard work and ideas come to fruition. For those of you who may have missed our Instagram Stories from the road, here’s a brief recap of our trip!
After cramming the company car full of shoe samples, merchandise bags, and our own luggage, we began our adventure on Wednesday with an 8-hour drive to Nashville. Once there, we got to spend the first of many sunny days connecting with the sororities on Vanderbilt’s campus. It was so awesome to be able to meet with our fellow OTBT wanderers there.
Once we finished meeting up with the girls on campus, we then got to explore many different areas of Nashville, including the Gulch, Belle Meade, and the iconic Downtown strip, where we visited a few local boutiques. The trip was already off to a great start!
The next morning, after getting our daily doses of caffeine, we hit the road once again for Tuscaloosa, where we hosted a game day event with the sisters of Delta Zeta. This was also our first time experiencing the University of Alabama on game day, and boy, were we in for a surprise! So many big crowds with so much school spirit – it really was a sight to see! Although most of the streets leading to the Delta Zeta sorority house were blocked off, we managed to park and unload ten heavy boxes for the event. (At least we got in a good workout for the day!)
While on campus, we spotted so many girls wearing our iconic Bushnell platform wedges. It’s safe to say that it’s a popular pick for game day fashion in Alabama, so we couldn’t wait to show off the rest of our favorite tailgating styles!
The fourth day of our road trip took us to Emory University in Atlanta, where we got to give out OTBT merchandise bags to the girls from the sorority houses. We did so much walking that day! Good thing we were wearing our Khora and Nebula sneakers. Their lightweight design and comfortable memory foam padding definitely helped keep us on our feet all day. And we got several compliments on them as well.
Once we were done at Emory, it was time to take off for South Carolina! We had our second event with the girls of Alpha Delta Pi at Clemson University. There was a constant flow of girls coming between their classes to see the newest OTBT styles. They were so friendly, and even gave us some awesome restaurant recommendations for the area! After our time with Alpha Delta Pi, we got stuck waiting in the car for a heavy rain storm to pass through. But once the sun was back out, it was off to our fifth and final city - Chapel Hill, NC!
Our morning at UNC Chapel Hill began with setting up our third event at the Alpha Chi Omega house. Even with talk of hurricane Florence making its way toward the coast, the sun was out and the rain held off long enough for us to enjoy our time at the university. Not only did we get to meet lots of sisters in Alpha Chi Omega, but they also invited us to join them for lunch – which was so nice of them! Once we said goodbye to our new friends, we packed up and headed back to the corporate office in Virginia.
We had such a fun-filled week getting to explore new cities and meet lots of new people. From the exciting game day atmosphere to calm, sunny mornings, each day was full of fun new experiences. Sydney and I had the best time ever, and we can’t wait to share even more of our future OTBT road trips with you all here on the blog!
‘Til then, happy travels!
