As the weather continues to warm up, so does our enthusiasm about spring fashion. With new OTBT styles arriving almost every week, we thought we’d take a moment to share a behind the scenes look with you, as well as a sneak peak at our newest styles, which will soon be available for purchase online.
Here’s a fun fact you may or may not know about the shoe industry: the design and development of each new line of women’s shoes is done up to a year in advance. For our marketing department, this means that all of our lifestyle photography is typically done several months before the styles are distributed and sold. This means that we will often take photographs of fall shoes in spring, or spring shoes in summer. Such was the case with this spring photo shoot, which was actually done in October!
For this photo shoot, we drove out to a small lakeside park about five minutes away from the office. Luckily, as is often the case here in Virginia, we had some unseasonably warm fall weather. The lake sparkled in the sun as a group of college students ran across the lush green grass, playing Frisbee. This day was perfect for a photo shoot of OTBT’s spring line of women’s casual shoes.
The first style we photographed was the Excursion, a new pair of thong sandals from our Travel Lite collection, which will be arriving online in March. Our model, Anne Marie, remarked about how comfortable they were as she slipped them on her feet and adjusted the ankle strap.
Our photographer, Ashley took care to brush away all of the leaves that were gathered on the concrete steps where Anne Marie was sitting. Then she lined up the shot and took several photographs of the sandals, each from a different angle. Later, she will upload the photos to the computer and determine which ones she wants to use and go on to edit them. But for now, it’s all about getting as many shots as possible.
The next style we photographed was the Freedom, comfortable wedges with texture-blocking and a wrap-around ankle strap. For this series of photographs, we moved over to a wooden pavilion in the middle of the park, where Anne Marie sat (and stood) on a white picnic bench. Ashley circled her, capturing all angles of the wedges.
The weather had us feeling so fine, so we decided to embrace our inner child and take the next set of photos over by the jungle gym. Ann Marie strapped on the Nova, another pair of casual, comfortable wedges coming soon to our Travel Lite collection. Then she shimmied herself up onto the bars. Even Ashley got in on the action, perching herself on top of the jungle gym to catch unique angles of the shoes.
We wrapped up the photo shoot and returned back to the office, thankful for the beautiful weather and excited about the great shots we took.
