Meet Maurizio Celin, Italian footwear designer and the brilliant mind behind the styles of OTBT. While studying recent fashion trends among young adults, Maurizio learned much what Millennial women value when it comes to their everyday style choices. Armed with this knowledge, Maurizio put the same thoughts and values into the creation of OTBT’s most recent styles for spring and summer – specifically, our Travel Lite collection of comfortable, lightweight athleisure-inspired footwear for women.
Here’s a quick word from Maurizio about the inspiration behind the Travel Lite line, his favorite OTBT collection for spring and summer 2018:
“Millennials are not interested in being on trend, but in standing out from the crowd. Status no longer comes from the image or price of an object, but from its association and values. Luxury is about relevance, not visibility.
A big percentage of Millennials say they would like to increase their spending on experiences rather than physical things in the next years. Most of them believe attending live events and experiences makes them more connected to other people, the community, and the world.
As a designer for OTBT, I listen very much to the needs of my team that is comprised of young women, and I observe a lot of the women who travel and live modern lives in big cities and small urban centers. They are all young women who want to feel feminine and attractive, even if they wear low heels and sweatshirts with leggings.
This is why my top choice for the new spring-summer season of OTBT is our Travel Lite line, where you can find light, fresh, and super-comfortable styles, with particular attention to the choice of materials and refined high-quality textures.
My favorite shoes in this collection are the Circuit, Moonchild, and Mercury. These are the Travel Lite sandals that I recommend to all women, because they are perfect for any occasion. Their printed materials and perforated textures used to enhance the leather make them unique, their soft neutral and pastel colors make them fresh and light – and let’s not forget the bright metallics that also make them perfect for special occasions.
And let's also not forget Travel Lite’s selection of stylish and comfortable new sneakers. The Lunar, with its super-feminine materials, is another one of my favorites, the floral print and soft colors making this a chic and fun style to wear. And of course the Nebula, with its unique huarache woven design, is another beautiful style that caters to this idea of comfortable yet detail-oriented design.”
