Hey there, OTBT wanderers!

Punxsutawney Phil may have called for an early spring this year, but we all know that the winter chill is sure to linger on well into the weeks ahead. And don’t get us wrong – we love a good bit of winter wandering and exploration, especially after a snowstorm blankets the landscape in fresh, white snow.

But let’s be honest, the cold weather can be tough to endure, especially for your feet. Sometimes it seems that no matter how thick your socks are, your feet still feel freezing after any time spent outside. Foot care in winter is extremely important and, unfortunately, often overlooked. But fear not, here’s five super easy winter foot care hacks that’ll warm up your feet and make them feel as good as new!

Pamper Yourself with a Pedicure

Like we said, winter is tough - so why not treat yourself? Stop in to your favorite nail salon and let yourself be pampered for the day. Let your feet be cleansed and freshened up with exfoliators and a much-needed foot rub. Have a nail tech spruce up your toes with a bright color in anticipation for spring, or if you’re not into color, just go with a clear coat and call it a day. This is the perfect way to forget about winter for a moment and treat your feet with the attention they deserve!

Go for a Soak at Home

Alternatively, if you’d rather not spend money at the salon, why not treat yourself to a DIY foot soak you can do from the comfort of your own home? Just fill up your tub or a bucket with some hot (but not too hot!) water, and let your feet soak as the chill just melts away. Add some of your favorite bath salts or DIY scrubs to take the experience up a notch. Better yet, invite your girl friends to join you and have an in-home spa day, complete with hot teas, coffees, and your favorite snacks. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a long week!

Don’t Forget the Lotion

Dry, cracked skin is a huge problem in the winter, and your feet are probably one of the biggest offenders. And unfortunately, it’s probably one of the last areas we think about. So after all those soaks and scrubs, make sure you don’t forget to add lotion to lock in all that moisture. Whether you invest in a special foot cream or go the DIY route and simply make your own, you’re sure to feel the difference right away. Moisturize as needed, and you’ll be on the right track to improving the look and feel of your feet in no time flat.

Keep Your Feet as Warm as Possible

Don’t let the results of your pedicure and foot soaks go to waste! Protect your feet with cozy socks and warm boots for when you plan to venture out into the chilly air. Some of our personal favorites for winter are the Embark cold weather boots, which feature some true state-of-the-art features like a heat-retaining sock and waterproof leather to keep the wetness of the snow from soaking through. Some of our other big winter picks include the Slope, Summit, and Descend mid-shaft boots, which feature fleece, faux fur and shearling linings to add that extra bit of warmth and coziness to each and every step. It’s boots and shoes like this that’ll be sure to keep your toes nice and toasty, even when the weather is at its most frosty.

Give Your Feet a Rest

Spend the night in. Don’t make any plans and just let yourself and your feet rest. Curl up on the couch with a good book or your favorite Netflix show. Make a hot cup of your favorite tea, snuggle up in the coziest blanket, and allow for maximum relaxation. Remember, when you indulge in a little bit of self-care, it can have tremendous impacts on your health and mental well-being. So go on, let your feet (and the rest of your body) have the relaxation you so desperately need. It’ll make a huge difference – trust us!
